Lamay to Pisac Hike

About Lamay to Pisac Hike

A beautiful route in the heights of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will ride our vehicle to the community of Poques, in the highlands above Lamay, where we will begin our hike. The trail will take us uphill in a unique and important ecosystem called Puna, where we will find houses made of stones and straw roofs, corrals and herds of alpacas and llamas, as well as local people farming and grazing their cattle.

After reaching the lloque pass, we will leave Lamay behind, to enter the community of Paru Paru, in Pisac. As we walk downhill, we’ll pass picturesque lakes and wetlands, with astonishing views of the mountains. After a hearty box lunch, we continue our hike down to reach the lakes of Kinsacocha (3 lakes), a unique ecosystem with straw reeds and diverse species of native and migratory birds. Our vehicle then takes us back to The Lodge.
